SUBVERSIVE SATURNALIA SYNECDOCHES
This project creates an estranged set of characters which disrupt the normative or choreographed elements of a party and reignite the ‘spirit of the party’. A spectacle of attraction or totem of attention is established, ideally this results in a more enjoyable experience for the user as well as micro collectives within the larger party body. ‘Success’ of these mechanisms and the party itself hinges on the three variables; the amount of
social media prompted by the event, the excitement and ‘fun’ had by the collective, and the fun had by the individual. SSS (as a result) looks at three scales; the self, the collective, and the context- all within the space of a 'party'.
