CLIMATE TOOL
“Culture & Climate” these are the two areas architects research at the beginning of every project. I noticed our studio lacked standardization when it came to the latter and also relied on various, and at times unreliable, sources. To cure this problem I developed a Grasshopper definition which pulled EPW data from reliable TYM3 sources using the plug-ins Ladybug & Honeybee. This definition generates the linework which can then be exported from Rhino and Imported into a standardized base Illustrator file. Lineweights can be matched using the default artboard and values can be altered based on user input. Although users must make several adjustments manually the base data is generated automatically increasing the consistency, legibility, and accuracy of the climate analysis.
