AFTERHOUSE

Afterhouse is a community greenhouse using the foundation of a derelict and burned down home in Detroit, Michigan. This greenhouse was adjacent to a community garden and the goal was to expand the range of harvestable produce offered by the garden and provide an new piece of architecture to a community plagued with ruin.

I requested to assist Steven Mankouche, associate professor of architecture at the University of Michigan, to assist on the project. I spent the summer of 2014 preparing the foundation, reclaiming usable materials, and designing the form work for the greenhouse.
